# FoodX > To build the tools that increase economic freedom in the world's food economy. **Mission**: To build the tools that increase economic freedom in the world's food economy. **Charity commitment**: 25% of profits to food charities. ## What FoodX is An autonomous food network that people, robots, and machines use to know, act, exchange, and own in the food economy, running on FoodBlock (an open protocol). **Three layers:** - **FoodBlock**: Open MIT-licensed protocol (type, state, refs) + seven types - **FoodOS**: Cognitive architecture for each node (intelligence layer) - **FoodX Node**: Product layer (download and access the peer-to-peer food economy) ## The FoodBlock protocol Content-addressed, append-only data primitive. Three fields: `type`, `state`, `refs`. Seven types: actor, thing, observe, transform, transfer, promise, grant. ``` hash = SHA-256(canonical(type + state + refs)) ``` Same content = same hash. Immutable. Updates chain via `refs.updates`. Provenance through refs graph. ## Key resources - Home: https://foodx.network - About: https://foodx.network/about (Markdown: https://foodx.network/about.md) - Protocol: https://foodx.network/protocol (Markdown: https://foodx.network/protocol.md) - Node: https://foodx.network/node (Markdown: https://foodx.network/node.md) - Mission: https://foodx.network/mission (Markdown: https://foodx.network/mission.md) - FoodBlock whitepaper v1.6 (PDF): https://foodx.network/foodblock-whitepaper-v1.6.pdf - FoodBlock spec: https://github.com/FoodXDevelopment/FoodBlock/blob/main/spec/core.md - Spec (FoodBlock 1.6): https://github.com/FoodXDevelopment/FoodBlock/blob/main/spec/core.md - FoodOS preview (PDF): https://foodx.network/foodos-whitepaper-preview.pdf - FoodOS preview (text): https://foodx.network/foodos.md - GitHub: https://github.com/FoodXDevelopment - FoodBlock SDK: https://github.com/FoodXDevelopment/FoodBlock - Discord: https://discord.gg/foodx - Build: https://github.com/FoodXDevelopment/FoodBlock (no central API; SDKs in sdk/; AI apps: https://mcp.foodx.network/mcp) ## Comprehensive documentation https://foodx.network/llms-full.txt
